image processing : octave is my tool

i am using octave2.9
i have been using matlab for years when switched to octave i found many a functions are not available in octave which is installed from the ubuntu repository.

but i could get most of these functions in a google search.
and i need to make minor modification on functions make them work for me
thought of putting those image processing functions which i find useful here in thos blogspot
